A Study on Living in God’s Dominion Here on Earth

Wk. 1: What does the Kingdom of God look like?

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men and women. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks. Then the doings of your work shall be no miracle, but you shall be the miracle.” ~ John F. Kennedy

Read KIOM Pg. 1-55 and answer the questions on Pg. 56-59

My next blogs will be focused on assisting you in your spiritual growth through a Study on Living in God’s Dominion Here on Earth.

This purpose of this 4-week class is to ignite your passion to live a life characterized by your relationship and faith with God. It is designed to be interactive, relational and conversational with Biblical teachings to encourage an atmosphere of camaraderie and support.

Spiritual discontent is sweeping the nation. People of different faith are looking for more. Although they cannot define “more”, they know that they are not yet operating their lives according to their calling. Some of them know their purpose but they do not know what’s the next step.

In John 15:1-2, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” Branches that are not bearing fruits are cut off so the vine can bear even more fruits.

This study will:

  • Help you discover and affirm your higher calling
  • Encourage you to step out in faith in your daily walk with God
  • Rapidly increase your spiritual growth
  • Assist you in broadening your vision with Biblical principles
  • Challenge you to apply the Scripture in your “Practical Learning Application” (PAL)
  • Make you more aware of living in God’s Dominion here on earth

More to come!

God wants our faithfulness, not our success

My people have committed two sins:
They have forsaken me,
the spring of living water,
and have dug their own cisterns,
broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Jeremiah 2:13

I believe this is a reminder to us that we need to put our faith in the Spring of Living Water. It is easy to try to “help God” to make things happen just because we are ministering to others. We have heard that there’s the part of man and the part of God in a given situation. I am not saying that we just sit and watch what God is doing. We have to put our trust and faith in God and His purpose before we look somewhere else.

When we are in a battle, we don’t see everything, but we can always bank on looking to Jesus first. That’s why the prophet Jeremiah said, let’s not leave the fountain of living water and go to the broken cisterns for fresh water. The cisterns could be our position or title, our “big” contact, our bank account or even our own abilities. These things are cracked jars that cannot hold no water at all!

Look to Jesus first then act accordingly.

Jeremiah prophesied and preached to the same people for about 40 years. Very few people listened to him but he continued to do what God had told him to do and say what God had told him to say. In our modern time, we can easily say that during Jeremiah’s ministry, he was failure. However, success in world’s view may not be the same success as defined by the Scripture. God wants our faithfulness, not our success.

Jeremiah may not have fully realized that the transformation of the people was already happening during his time. He had countless oppositions and he was banished from the people who had authority over the land…so they thought.

God is the fountain of fresh flowing water. Once we come to the point that we abandon everything for Him, He will empower us to do His will through us. Like the the prophet Jeremiah, God works in us and through us and He will make sure that He will continue to finish what He started in you.

Be encouraged, my friends!
